ARTIST INQUIRY

WHAT DO YOU LOVE TO DRAW?

Let’s find a story that fits you.

Before submitting

Profit-sharing collaboration. No guaranteed upfront page fee.

Tell us about your art and interests.

What happens next?

We review each inquiry personally. If there’s a potential fit, we’ll email you to discuss a script and how it might develop around your strengths.

Submitting doesn’t commit either of us to a project.

Start with what you already make.

Send a portfolio, social account, or a small selection of existing work. Sketchbook drawings and personal projects are welcome. You don’t need a polished website or published comics.

Tell us what you enjoy.

What subjects do you return to? What do you love drawing? What would you like to try?

Your answers help our writer/producers suggest a script. No need to choose a story or create sample artwork before reaching out.

Who we are looking for

Inventive artists. Curious collaborators.

Our stories tend to wander into the surreal, spooky, and strange. We’re looking for artists who enjoy bringing unusual ideas to life—or that are willing to add unexpected ideas of their own.

We welcome a wide range of styles: expressive, delicate, rough, playful, realistic, abstract, or something we haven’t seen before. Your work doesn’t have to look like a traditional comic. We’re interested in your imagination, visual storytelling, and personal approach.

Emerging artists are especially encouraged to reach out. Full Bleed Press is growing, too, and we’re excited to learn from one another while making something together. You don’t need publishing credits or a large following.

We value:

Inventive compositions and expressive characters.

An interest in storytelling through panels and page layouts.

Openness to feedback and exchanging ideas.

Clear communication and realistic commitments.

Send us work you’ve already made—comic pages, illustrations, sketchbook drawings, or a portfolio link. Sequential pages are helpful, but they aren’t required to introduce yourself. There’s no need to create new artwork just to inquire.

Human-made stories. Artist-made artwork.

Full Bleed Press celebrates the imagination, skill, and time that artists bring to making comics. We welcome both traditional and digital drawing. We do not accept AI-generated artwork, including generated images that have been traced or painted over.

Show us how you make it.

Collaborating artists are asked to document a few stages of their process:

Traditional artwork: photos of thumbnails, pencils, in-progress inks, or your hands working on the page.

Digital artwork: progress screenshots showing sketches, layers, and revisions, or short screen recordings of your drawing process.

You do not need to show your face, record every drawing session, or have professional filming equipment. We’ll agree on a manageable amount of documentation before the project begins.

With your permission, selected process images may appear on our website, social media, or project updates—with credit—to help readers meet the artist and see the work behind the finished comic. We’ll agree separately on what can be shared publicly.

Ordinary digital drawing tools, such as brushes, layers, stabilizers, and color adjustments, are welcome. Generative AI should not create or replace the artwork.
