HOW WE SHARE PROFITS

MAKE COMICS.

SHARE THE REWARD.

You bring the artwork. We bring story development, creative direction, and publishing support. Together, we agree on the work and share what the comic earns.

01 / DIGITAL EDITIONS

Digital profits.

Split down the middle.

For digital copies sold, the artist receives 50% of the net profit and Full Bleed Press receives 50%

Net profit means sales revenue after refunds, payment/platform fees, and any other direct project costs agreed in advance. Sales tax is excluded.

02 / WHO DOES WHAT

FULL BLEED PRESS:

Story, direction & production

  • Script writing or development, as agreed for the project.

  • Creative direction, editorial feedback, and coordination.

  • Production schedule, page specifications, and review milestones.

  • Lettering and coloring may be included when agreed in the project scope.

  • Book design, digital files, and print-ready preparation.

  • Publishing, promotion, sales reporting, and artist payouts.

  • For print: printer coordination, packing, shipping and customer service.

THE ARTIST:

Layouts, visual storytelling & artwork

  • Create and submit thumbnails and page layouts for review.

  • Develop the visual storytelling, characters, and environments.

  • Collaborating artists are asked to document a few stages of their process for marketing human-made artwork.

  • Create pencils, inks, or agreed finished artwork.

  • Share work at the agreed review stages before finishing pages.

  • Complete the agreed rounds of revisions.

  • Deliver final files to the agreed size, resolution, and schedule.

  • Cover artwork, coloring, or lettering only when included in the agreed scope.

We agree on responsibilities, deadlines, and revision limits before work begins. Our in-house creative work is compensated through our shares, not deducted again as an extra production fee.

03 / PRINT EDITIONS

Reach the print goal. Cover costs. Then share equally.

The artist receives 50% of the remaining print profit after agreed printing and direct fulfillment costs are covered. Full Bleed receives the other 50%

STEP 01

Fund the print run

Each project has a preorder goal based on its actual printing and fulfillment budget.

Printing proceeds once the goal is reached.

STEP 02

Recover agreed costs

Cover printing, proofs, inbound delivery, packaging, and transaction fees. Each expense is deducted only once.

STEP 03

Split the profit 50/50

Divide the remaining profit equally. Further sales continue to share profit after their applicable direct costs.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

$500 book sales - $200 printing - $50 other agreed direct costs = $250 profit

Artist: $125 / Full Bleed Press: $125

Customer postage is charged separately to cover mailing. Sales tax excluded. These amounts are an example, not a printer quote.

Each campaign states its deadline and refund policy. Unspent budget funds become part of the profit shared; general business overhead is not automatically charged to a project.

04 / OWNERSHIP & TRANSPARENCY

YOUR ART STAYS YOURS

You retain copyright to your original artwork. The writer retains their original script. Publishing permission, character rights, credits, and any additional uses are agreed in writing before production.

Profit sharing does not transfer copyright. Sales and approved expenses are reported with agreed upon timeline (quarterly, or annually if there are lack of sales). This is a profit-sharing collaboration with no guaranteed upfront page fee.
